Are you still enrolled in a secondary or postsecondary institution as a full-time student but want to launch your own business? Become an YSBEC Summer Company and work for yourself when you’re not in school.
Each summer, and through the Ontario Government, YSBEC administers its “Summer Company” program which is designed to foster and develop the entrepreneurial spirit in students between the ages of 15 to 29 as of April 30, 2017, and who are registered to return to school full-time in September 2017.
In place of a summer job, students have the opportunity to be their own boss. All that’s required is a good summer company idea, commitment, and hard work. In return, students receive hands-on business training from successful business leaders, and financial support with awards of up to $3,000 available. To start the application process, check to see if you’re eligible to qualify for the Summer Company program.
Applicants to YSBEC’s Summer Company program must be registered to be returning to school in September 2017, and a detailed business plan must be submitted for review and approval. The deadline to apply is May 6, 2017 or earlier if the program reaches capacity.
This dynamic program allows you to take your startup business idea and turn it into reality. Do you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur and run your own company? The YSBEC Summer Company program is a terrific way to find out.
