Annual York Region employment survey team hits the road
Newmarket – Now through the end of August, The Regional Municipality of York has a team of summer students knocking on businesses’ doors to collect up-to-date information about local industry.
The data is used to:
- Monitor local economic trends
- Forecast transit and infrastructure needs
- Analyze local business sectors
- Forecast employment and employment land/space needs
Data collected during this survey period will also help build a stronger local economy, by informing York Region marketing, business attraction and business retention by helping develop marketing, business attraction and business retention strategies.
In addition to providing the necessary information to plan for future employment growth and industry trends, the employment survey updates York Region’s largest FREE business directory. The business directory, along with an interactive business map and business visualization tool, is available at york.ca/employmentsurvey
