SMALL BUSINESS CONSULTANT
Vivian Ho-Tam brings over seven years of experience in providing entrepreneurship coaching to small and medium-sized business in rural and urban settings. Vivian is experienced working with not-for-profit organizations, the education sector, other levels of government and community agencies. Prior to joining the YSBEC team, Vivian was the Youth Entrepreneurship Program Coordinator at the City of Mississauga Business Enterprise Centre (MBEC), and she previously worked as a Small Business Consultant for the Town of Bracebridge’s Muskoka Small Business Centre. As a third generation entrepreneur, Vivian enjoys assisting and working with entrepreneurs of all ages in the development of their businesses.

Daniela Mazzaferro brings 15 years’ of experience working closely with small and medium start-ups and established businesses, non-profits, government agencies, community groups and youth. Previous to joining the YSBEC team she spent nine years as the Small Business Consultant with the Town of Richmond Hill where her focus was business events, seminars and consulting with entrepreneurs to develop comprehensive business support services to further their goals and navigate the waters of entrepreneurship. Raised by adventurous business owners, Daniela understands where her clients are coming from.

Pauline Nagelmakers brings more than eight years’ experience serving as both a small business assistant and marketing professional to the YSBEC team, and more than 25 years’ experience in various marketing and administration roles, including two at small businesses and one startup company. She possesses a strong aptitude for accurately assessing a startup business’s needs and is responsible for delivering valuable resources and information to YSBEC’s clients. When she isn’t helping manage YSBEC’s Summer Company program and networking events, administering client applications and publishing the organization’s monthly e-newsletter, Pauline enjoys golfing and spending time outdoors.
MANAGER, STRATEGIC ECONOMIC INITIATIVES
For more than 20 years working in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors across a range of industries, Charles Banfield has dedicated himself to supporting businesses of all sizes achieve success across a range of industries. He holds a MBA in Marketing Management and International Business Studies from Dalhousie University, a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and certificates in Economic Development from University of Oxford and in Innovation and Commercialization, from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. When he isn’t working to support the business community in York Region, Charles can be found practicing and teaching Chito-Ryu Karate or researching the origins of, and connections between, various types of martial arts from around the globe.
