Webinar: Supporting Mental Health in a Virtual World
June 8 @ 2:00 pm
Host: The Conference Board of Canada
Date: Monday, June 8
Time: 2 p.m.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, our “new normal” consists of quarantining ourselves in our homes with little to no contact with the physical outside world. Many of the coping mechanisms and mental health supports that we relied on pre-pandemic have moved virtual. Virtual mental health supports have been gaining traction before COVID-19, a process which has now been accelerated to become an absolutely necessity.
But the virtual mental health world is fragmented. Digital therapeutics (DTx) have risen sharply in the past few years from telemedicine, online pharmacies, and internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy (iCBT) among others; but the coordination of these supports is disjointed. It could be multiple different providers offering services that have little no to connection with each other. Navigation of these services for an individual or workplace can be challenging.
To help you understand and benefit from these virtual mental health supports, Joe Blomeley and Bill Howatt will discuss with you:
- Making sense of all the virtual mental health offerings at your finger tips
- Potential of digital therapy being the next blockbuster drug
- How DTx will be a critical component of the healthcare delivery system and employer led mental health supports
- Role of employers and governments to promote and scale these services as society becomes reliant on digital platforms
